Introduction

gizmix.org allows users to store, manage, and share their DJ mixes easily. To keep your content safe and accessible from any device, the platform includes two simple sign-in methods: the standard email + password flow and Google Sign-In. Both let you reach your personal dashboard and manage uploads with minimal fuss.

Registered users can upload mixes, create playlists, and edit content from the Mixes Management Panel. This short guide explains how to register, how to log in, and what to expect once you’re inside so you can start uploading without confusion.

1 — Login with email & password

Use this method if you registered on gizmix.org using our site form. Enter the same email address you used during registration and the password you created. If the credentials match, you’ll be redirected to your dashboard.

Important: A password recovery ("Forgot password?") feature is not available yet — it's planned for a future release. Until then, keep your credentials safe and backed up.

2 — Login with Google

gizmix.org supports Google Sign-In (Google’s official authentication). To use it, have at least one Google account already signed in on the browser you’re using.

If multiple Google accounts are active in the browser, Google will prompt you to choose which account to use. After you click the “Login with Google” button on gizmix.org and confirm the account, you will be authenticated immediately — no GizMix password is required.

3 — Register an account on GizMix

To create a GizMix account without Google, open the registration link found inside the top bar's "Status: Outside" control (the register link appears in the dropdown arrow of that control). This link opens the registration form directly on the site.

Fill in the requested fields (name, email, password) and submit. After successful submission your account is created and you can sign in with the email/password method described above.

4 — Inside the Mixes Management Panel

Once logged in, this is your working area. The panel is split into two main blocks: your existing content on the left and the creation tools on the right. Everything you do — upload, edit, publish — happens here.

Personal Folder: your content

This section lists every session or playlist you’ve created. Each row is one item and gives direct access to its player, editing tools, and visibility controls.

Name (★ + title) — Clicking the name or star opens the full player page. This includes waveform, playback, tracklist, opinions, and additional info.
Date created — Displayed as YYYY-MM-DD so you can track when each item was added.

Actions available for each item:

✏️ Edit — Opens the full editor with all saved data (including tracklist). Modify anything and save changes directly.
❌ Delete — Permanently removes the item. A confirmation popup appears before deletion. Once deleted, it’s gone.
★ Open player — Shortcut to the same player view as clicking the title.
🟢 / ⚪ Publish toggle — Controls visibility:
- Green = visible to other users
- Gray = private
Clicking switches state instantly. No hidden behavior.

Set a New Playlist

Creating a new item follows a 3-step flow. Each step unlocks the next one once completed correctly.

1 — Let’s name it

Enter a valid name and click “Set Name”.

No spaces
No special characters
Simple naming only

Rules are shown when hovering the input field.

2 — Let’s upload

Select your audio file and upload it:

Click Browse File
Select a file from your device
Click Upload

Restrictions: valid audio format (typically .mp3) and standard filename rules. Hover the field to see details.

3 — Let’s narrow it down

This defines the tracklist inside your mix.

Click Add Track to create entries. Each entry includes:

Start time — minute and second when the track begins
Track label — must follow this exact format:
Artist - Title

Important rule: Use a dash with spaces on both sides. If not followed exactly, the player will not parse the track correctly.

❌ Remove track — Deletes the row instantly

Editing existing items

When using the Edit button from your Personal Folder, the same track editor appears, already filled with saved data.

Adjust timestamps
Fix track names
Add or remove entries

Changes apply directly to the selected item.

Account controls

At the top-right, the “Current: your_username” dropdown provides:

Edit profile — Update your account information
Change password — Set a new password
Logout — End your session

The panel is designed to be direct: create → structure → manage → publish. No hidden steps, no background processing — actions happen immediately when triggered.

5 — Supporting creators

gizmix.org allows listeners to support creators directly. If a user has configured support links, a “Support creator” button will appear in the player. Clicking it opens a small panel with available options.

Important: gizmix.org does not process payments and does not receive any percentage of donations. All contributions go directly to the creator through external services.

External platforms — Links such as PayPal, Ko-fi or similar services open in a new tab.
Card payments — If provided, Stripe or similar links allow direct card donations handled entirely outside gizmix.org.
Crypto support — Some creators may provide wallet addresses (e.g. Bitcoin or Ethereum). These can be copied and used in your preferred wallet.

This system ensures that support is direct, transparent, and controlled by the creator.

6 — Adding your support links (for creators)

If you upload content, you can optionally add your own support links so listeners can support you.

To configure them, go to your Account Area → Edit Profile. You will find a section called “Enable Creator Support Features”. Click on the checkbox to expand the options.

Add links to platforms like PayPal, Ko-fi or Buy Me a Coffee
Optionally include crypto addresses (Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.)
Leave any field empty if you don’t want to use it

Once saved, these options will automatically appear in the player when users listen to your mixes.

7 — Transparency and platform role

gizmix.org acts only as a bridge between listeners and creators.

No payments are processed on the platform
No commissions or fees are taken
No financial data is stored or handled by gizmix.org

8 — Usage tips & good practices

Avoid misleading links — Only add support links that belong to you.
Keep it simple — One or two support methods are usually enough.
Be clear — Use recognizable platforms to build trust.
Respect content rights — Avoid uploading DRM-protected or commercial material you don’t have rights to distribute.
